Sex:Fem

This personal project explores nude woman in sexual scenarios as well as in professional photography. I aimed to express the preconceived perceptions society has of ’acceptable’ female form (professional nude photography) and ’unacceptable’ versions (pornographic movies and photos) of the same subject matter. Within the digitally layered graphic below I meshed the two ’types’ of female representations together, showing that they are in fact actually indistinguishable.

I chose not to identify the ’professional’ photography from the stills and promotional materials from pornographic films to further blur these preconceived lines of ’acceptability’. The marker observations below were drawn from randomly found imager on the internet. I personally loved being able to identify unique lines and expressions of pleasure as well as comfort. I chose to use pink due to its modern association with woman and femininity.
