Shifted Perception

Through my research on relativity I focused on the idea of objects effect on space, light and one another. I used the refractions and reflections of light passing through various pieces of acrylic to show this through abstract and ephemeral forms. My brother helped me produce an ambient, symbol based sound-scape to accompany, emphasise scene changes and the movement of light. As the video was an abstract representation of relativity, I produced a book to give a very basic foundation to understanding relatively. The book is produced from acrylic, laser engraved with images of refracting light and printed acetate of concise statements on relativity. The mediums were chosen so that every page is relative to one another and the whole book is relative to the space it is veiwed in.
