SHORT FILM THE FIFTH SENSE TRAILER IN COLLABORATION WITH JACOB POWER (ONLINE PLATFORM MOCK UP)

  • Jana Kroslakova

To meet the requirements of the brief asking to deliver an online branded web-based platform showcasing a trailer for the new Chanel project with a series of 6 creative collaborators as an expansion of successful Fifth Sense project which i-D introduced as part of their online presence in collaboration with Chanel in 2016 to showcase female creativity from across the globe The aim: -Speak to a new type of male audience -Explore new types of masculinity and those who embody that both personally and creatively. Answering the question: What does it mean to be male, or identify as male, in this current social and political climate. Is it still possible to celebrate masculinity? - The trailer itself is a reaction on Chanel’s promotion of non- traditional gender expression and the fact that traditional gender roles have been increasingly rejected since the internet has been used by many as a tool to reshape their identities. Rather than exploring inclusiveness, we decided to focus on diversity covering a whole range of aspects such as emotion, movement and the reaction of the public alongside affirming the self identity. The trailer is a documentation of diverse talents, their lifestyles and the presentation of individuals who we believe would speak to a wide range audiences. By placing the scenes into familiar urban spaces, and capturing the simplicity of everyday life, our aim was to grab the attention of the younger generation who prefer living for the experience rather than typical consumers of classical Chanel codes.
