I wanted to get a feature wall in our Brick Lane venue,
I had recently watched a documentary about sign painting which fascinated me. I had previously done a few chalk boards with inkpens and chalk so I thought id try my hand at it.
I choose a quote for the restaurant that was relevant to both the space but also the brand.
Fools make feasts while wise men eat them - Benjamin Franklin.
I thought the quote was poignant as it spoke of having a feast whilst letting the customer know we thought they were smart for coming down. But also as its Ben Franklin it ticket the vintage angle of the brand.
It took me 14 hours straight through the night. Which was very physically draining but I didn't want it to be half done when we had customers in the next day.
I did a much less exciting sign next to the lanes with a # as I was asked by marketing but it was still fun to do.
Also you can see another sign that I designed but it was painted by a professional. as I hadn't quite ready to master the art of ladder climbing.
