Sketchy Youth - A fictional pitch for a TV show

  • Genesis Shalom

Sketchy Youth is a new show for up and coming young comedians to talk about politics, popular British culture, funny stories about their lives and much more. All their stories will be told in a studio face to face with a camera and actors will act out their stories in a melodramatic style to make it fun. An example would be “The Day We Found Out We Were Leaving Europe” from the perspective of urban youth in Dublin. The story teller would be explaining it to a camera, and there would be regular cuts to the story being acted out. This is intended to be similar to shows like ‘Drunk History’ ‘Key and Peele’ and 'Coffee with Comedians’ with a cinematic feel. ———————————————————————————————————– Who: The Target audience for ‘Sketchy Youth’ is 18-25+ across the UK. What: A comedic view of the world for Young People by Young people about Young People. Where: ITV2. When: 9-10pm Why: There is often a misconception that youth (specifically millennials) aren’t paying attention to current affairs and are always in their phones. They do care, because in the end it is their futures that are on the line and we aim to change that view through comedy. ———————————————————————————————————– In each season there will be 10 episodes, and the best episode will be chosen via a pole on Twitter. The best episode will win their own 30 minute stand up show. Poster by Me Twitter @genesisshalom_
