Skeuomorph — Publication

This publication explores the history and context of skeuomorphism in contemporary life, using 12 examples which span four areas of design—architecture, fashion, product and interiors. Skeuomorphism is an under-discussed topic outside the realms of interactive design (think wooden textures and “torn” pages in mobile applications). This publication questions the value of skeuomorphism in physical design objects—a rich history of an object embedded within its very design, or uninspired and lazy design that fails to make optimum use of the materials, process or technology available?
