Sony recently announced the 30th Anniversary PlayStation 5 consoles, released worldwide on November 21st. With a limited supply of just 12,300 units of the PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary edition and the standard slim model packaged in classic retro PS1-inspired design, it’s a nostalgic treat for fans. Inspired by this theme, I decided to apply a similar retro aesthetic to the PlayStation Vita—a console often seen as a failure but, in reality, a handheld device far ahead of its time for 2011 standards. Moreover, while studying the packaging of the PlayStation consoles I owned, I ensured that the branding adhered to realistic guidelines by incorporating various PS and Sony logos consistently across the box, regardless of its orientation. Branding is everything, and with a historic and iconic brand like PlayStation, it’s expected that a console like this is instantly recognizable by the iconic PS logo gleaming proudly.
