SpecialEffect's 'Game For Us' Campaign

  • Mat Roff

In June 2019 I was commissioned by the gaming charity, SpecialEffect to brand their new campaign called Game For Us, which was set up to both inform and promote streamers, broadcasters, gaming fans, and fundraisers to raise money for the charity all year round. I created a logo, banner, buttons and business card designs for their website and marketing material to reflect the diverse range of games, consoles and adaptable hardware that the charity are building to suit the needs of disabled gamers.

The logo had to be loud and bright, taking reference from their bold orange, blue and white colour scheme.
I included as many console controllers and streaming references as I could fit in around a bold/retro font design...
With the banner, the team wanted a pattern that would work on multiple interfaces so we agreed to take as many items from the logo and then push it further by adding icons connected to the publishers such as PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo...
As the artwork was also part of a website design - we had to keep the design work running throughout the page, so I drew a range of spot illustrations and custom made font for their buttons...
