Specsavers: More Than Meets the Eyes

Specsavers wanted to promote the fact that they offer careers in far more than just optometry. They were after an eye-catching teaser that could be shared through social media, job sites, and at events. It needed to direct traffic to their own careers page, and had to be translatable and easily rebranded for their sister companies overseas. Specsavers also informed us that filming at their offices and more than one of their stores would be difficult.

I put forward the idea of focusing on the minute details of various roles from across the business. We’d use on-location sounds of associated actions and objects to build a piece of music. This track would guide the audience through the multitude of opportunities on offer at Specsavers whilst addressing the language and shoot location restrictions.

The project was completed in two months. A guide track was composed by the guys at Sounds Like These and was used to create a shopping list of ‘instruments’ that needed to be found. An audio recce of a Specsavers store and an office environment gave the sound effects needed to complete the track as well as a shot list to work to on the shoot day.
