I’m very excited to be entering this commission. I decided to make my video on Premier Pro. I was set to do a short film edit, captivating the spirit of Soho. I experimented with the software and made my own interpretation of Soho. I tried to show different aspects of Soho such as the nightlife and daylight. Soho is rich in cultural and has live entertainment, making it a favourite amongst tourists and Londoners alike. I filmed areas of Soho that I found interesting, I also took photographs and I combined the two together and added some visual effects and transitions. The effects and the audio are in sync, which makes the video look professional and clean. I wanted to give a taste of everything that you would see in Soho. In the beginning of the video, you wake up and open your eyes, you find yourself in Chinatown and you then explore other sights and discover different places such as theatres, restaurants, bars and shops. I also included pictures of the nightlife, as it is famous for its distinctly effervescent nightlife. Lights of Soho is an art gallery where you will see neon art work will feature alongside rock slogans, old movie signs, props and signage rescued from nightclubs amongst other memorabilia from Soho’s past. The aim of my concept is to intrigue public viewers and understand the elements that Soho is known for. I really enjoyed this project because I got to experience filming photography and editing. I am very happy with the outcome and I hope you enjoy the video.
