Stone and Fibre

This project follows an exploration of the relationship between the textiles and the land. I have used photographs I have taken of rocks whilst walking or climbing as my main source of inspiration and as a material within my work. I used found stones within my samples to build on themes of physicality, connection, taking inspiration from the Land Art movement. I created a collection of samples that explore the use of textural yarns such as mohair and fabric weight to create a haptic experience when interacting with my samples.
