Structure

  • Abigail Knott
This collection challenges the traditional methods of designing fashion accessories to create an appropriate platform to display prints. Inspired by initial documentary photography of Manchester’s architecture, these pieces explore texture and structure stylised into engineered print designs. By identifying shapes and patterns from photographic elements, experimental prototyping inspired three dimensional paper vessels which translated into a realised collection that showcases printed fashion accessories as structural sculpture.
“My process for designing a range of three dimensional pieces has become an integral part of my practice: refined through the visual impact of digital and analogue collage onto luxury leather. I have adopted geometric, tessellating shapes from my research to showcase my digitally collaged prints.” - Abigail Knott
