As a young teenager I would spend hours on my skateboard. It helped me to socialise and was an exhilarating way of spending time outdoors.

For a long time skateboarding had been completely pushed from my mind, until I spotted an old deck of mine in the garage nine months ago. I had it re-gripped, attached it to my old trucks and wheels and felt a connection with skating again.

Skateboarding for me has changed hugely since I was twelve. I enjoy the freedom a lot more and skating to music; it's much more about escapism. As a 24 year old designer it has been hugely enjoyable producing my own designs for decks, clothing and the company brand.

The Swell Skates© project was set up to combine the creative minds of designers, illustrators and photographers who share a passion for skateboarding. We design, print and sell a range of custom decks and clothing items.
