T.S JAGUAR

T.S Jaguar (Training Ship Jaguar) is the official name of the High Wycombe Sea Cadet Unit. This unit consists of two main age groups the junior unit (10-13) and the regular unit (13-18) year olds.

The cadet unit isn't an official training unit for the British Armed Forces, but a lot of the skills and training they are equipped with are recognised by the British Navy. They don't receive any external funding from the Ministry of Defence, This results In them having to be registered as a charity and do their own funding. This means that it's hard for the staff to make ends meet; but they tirelessly work to keep the unit up and running.

There is a huge sense of family values within the small unit in High Wycombe. The cadets are taught how to respect the staff and their fellow cadets. This respect for each others livelihood carries through in their civilian lives.

The current terror threat level in the United Kingdom being very high, consequently the unit have to be cautious when they are out of the unit, because of the uniforms they wear.

All types of cadets can receive bad press because they target younger people to join up, most of the training and activities that they partake in is based around self development and being able to work in a team. The whole theme of the unit is based around the war machine, some say it targets them when they're unaware of the horrors of war.
