Tallinn: Lights and Shadows

  • Sara Anna Nadalini
Documentary produced for the Sociology Institute of Tallinn University in February 2012. It focuses on three social problems faced by Talliners: economical situation, feelings of integration among Estonian and Russian speaking population and sex tourism. It unveils the inner social dynamics of the small Baltic capital while living its charm.
Tallinn is the intriguing capital of Estonia. Economical growth and increase of tourism flux haven’t however changed the fate of disadvantaged minorities. The culture and history of the Russian speaking population intertwine with that of the Estonians, making this small country an inspirational start to think about tolerance, cohabitation and identity.
