Tamyras

Crafting an immersive experience around Mediterranean books.

Tamyras is an independent  publishing house based out of Beirut and Paris. Founded in 2003 by Tania Hadjithomas-Mehanna, Tamyras’ first foray into publishing started off with children’s books, but has since expanded into all literary genres. Since partnering up with us in 2009, Tamyras has published over forty books, many of them shortlisted and winning awards like the “5 Continent de la Francophonie” Award and the “France-Liban” Award. Their catalogue includes the work of notable authors like Etel Adnan, Journalist Warren Singh-Bartlett, illustrator Mazen Kerbaj  and screenwriter Meedo Taha.

Striking the right balance

Just as any publishing house, Tamyras acts like a chameleon, evolving with each book release. We needed to strike the right balance between creating a strong and memorable brand identity that would stand out, and take a back seat when it came time to promote a new release. The second part of the challenge was creating a different universe for every new book that would hit the market. We would need to brand the publication but also create an adequate communication strategy around it that would be catered to its creative direction.

Let’s face it: people will judge a book by its cover.

We take part of the book’s life cycle as soon as a manuscript lands on the Tamyras team’s desk. We design the book’s layout and its cover, paying close attention to the latter, because let’s face it: people will judge a book by its cover.  Each book’s release strategy is based around an immersive visual story aimed at attracting avid readers by giving them a taste of the book’s essence and story. This narrative is told through book trailers, branded author interviews, social media campaigns and more.
