Illustrations for Taschen's latest children's book; The Fairy Tales of Hans Christian Andersen, edited and art directed by Noel Daniel. The book features vintage illustrations from legendary artists such as Arthur Rackham, Kay Nielsen, Lotte Reiniger, Harry Clarke, Heinrich Strub, Katherine Beverley and Elizabeth Ellender, to name but a few! In additition to the illustrations I created the endpapers and also the hand decorated 'pea tendril' lettering for the title and each tale's drop cap. As with the Brothers Grimm book I created a total of fifty illustrations. Here are just a few of them, photography by the very talented Mark Deacon.
