Taste Festivals

A multi-lingual, multi-stakeholder, multi-location website

I have been involved throughout the many stages of development with the Taste Festivals website. This was the second major iteration of this site and I was tasked with planning & redevelopming of the existing codebase into the new site.
The site itself is fully responsive, multilingual, supports a flexible page builder, custom relational content and many other features. One of the key features is in the depth customisation available to each festival this was to ensure as each festival could effectivley display thier brand. The admin allows all brand colours, social media, sponsors, and other information unique to each event to be easily added to quickly skin the site to suit.
This code base is regularly deployed to a increasing number of festivals around the world. This requires careful planning and consideration when working from a single codebase. I have found this a great challenge producing elegant solutions during planning and building of new features. Carefully managing version control & deployment of new features and bug fixes has been key to managing this complex project
I have been required to work with the major stakeholders to plan and consider the feasibility of new features. Through this I have learnt to effectively estimate reasonable build times to help keep clients informed.
The training I provided had to be clear to and concise due to the increasing complexity in tools, I was also responsible to a large number of admins from all over the world. In the lead up to training calls I supplied each team with acess to a staging version of the site and visual guides to the overall structure with short videos of specific workflows. I found this helped clients come to the call prepared and leave felling less overwhelmed when introduced to all the features.
