Tate Billboard 2020 - London

  • Rowan Bailey

Following an open call by Tate Collective to submit a piece of work in response to seven artworks in Tate’s collection - I had a crack at illustrating a poster inspired by Russian painter, Wassily Kandinsky. Likewise with Kandinsky, music played a role in creating my illustration. I didn't want to over think it, so I banged on a few of my favourite records and started to scribble. A chosen selection of works from the open call, got pasted up on billboards around London for a two week free exhibition. Mine got the sunny spot by Finsbury Park tube station. Big thanks to the Tate and Tate Collective for the opportunity.
