The Addiction / Title Sequence

Title sequence interpretation is based on the movie philosophical outcome. “We’ve all got both light and dark inside of us. What matters, is the part we choose to act on.” J K Rowling. Movie looks in to (analyze) darker side that human soul is capable.
The film is shot in black and white. First thing I noticed is that there are a lot of scenes with, reflections, shadows and dark corners. The fragility of life, good and evil battle inside us and lifetimes, are all important themes that influence my idea and the way I want present the titles. I’ve been inspired by Suminagashi Paper Marbling technique for my title sequence as a core visual representation. The floating and spreading lines will represent the addiction spreading around us and touching people’s lives. I also interprets the idea of light and dark inside of us as going parallel but never mixing together giving contrast for moral human nature qualities.
