The book calculator is a simple but powerful web app. His aim is to do the math that designer working in editorial design encounter: number of pages, booklets, margins,… Sometimes it's easy because you just have to be sure that you have a multiple of 4 to get the right numbers of pages. But what if you need for your book design project 7 booklets of 32p., 1 booklet of 16p. and 9 booklets of 4p.? Not so sure about the page number… right? Hopefully the book calculator is here for you! And if you would like to know what would be the five most common margins settings — based on canons of page construction —, just enter your page size and the book calculator will tell you the top, outer, bottom and inner margins! Here are the main functions of the book calculator: Pages verificator This is a simple but useful test: enter a number and it will tell you if that amount of pages can be book. Booklet calculator With this tool you can ask to the book calculator how many pages you will get by entering the amount of booklets or how many booklets would be necessary for your amount of pages.
