This set of renderings is a sample from my latest project entitled "The Conservatory", located in Gruyeres, Switzerland. This conceptual design is formed around the idea of mimicking a natural undulating environment through stylised rectilinear forms. The different levels and tiered aspects of this house give a subtle sense of a subterranean environment in some cases, as seen in the sunken kitchen, and in others cases an elevated environment, such as the conservatory room. The large glass facades are designed to omit the maximum amount of natural light, which mitigates energy consumption. All materials are locally sourced, including the stone facade, in order to imitate the natural surroundings and limit the ecological footprint of the construction process.
