THE FASHION EDUCATOR x MICROSOFT: BLACK HISTORY MONTH PANEL OCTOBER 2019

  • ANGELA BAIDOO

“How to Thrive as a Black Professional and Entrepreneur in the UK Fashion Industry.” The lack of representation has become an important topic of discussion in the fashion industry. Over the past couple of years we have seen more companies take action from implementing new rules and regulations, hiring more people of colour and including them in campaigns as well as and creating boards within their organisations. I was invited to be part of a panel by Frederica Brooksworth, that was created not to discuss and debate the problems in the industry but to focus on How to Thrive as a Black Professional and Entrepreneur in the UK Fashion Industry. As a panelist, I shared my own experiences, how I got to where I am now, tips and advice, and information they don’t share at fashion school, as well as key resources.
