The Girl Impact Map

  • Oliver Key
This two week team project began with an initial UX review of site using usability heuristics to gain some quick wins for our client, and competitor analysis. The challenge of designing for a niche and remote primary user group based in Rwanda was met by producing a proto-persona Dora-The Compassionate Programme Planner" for the primary user group (which we later began to validate) and a research based persona "Jo-The Data Driven Programme Manager” for a secondary user group. These personas and research based design principles informed the design of a feature “to allow the saving and retrieving of created maps”. Beginning with a Design Studio and considering both feature prioritisation and information architecture, we developed a prototype from paper to hi-fidelity through testing and iterating. We delivered comprehensive training to our client for usability testing on the primary user group in Rwanda.
