The Google Startup Weekend Utrecht

''Startup Weekend is a 54 hours entrepreneurship challenge, you will go through the whole journey of creating a startup, starting from brainstorming the idea, developing it, researching and subsequently pitching it to the team of jury. You will work together with a team of 4-5 people with expertise in different fields. If you don't have a team and/or an idea, you can find them during the event itself.'' This weekend was an amazing experience. Meeting new people and other hungry, young creatives eager to work together and create something in a short period of time! As a start of the weekend there was a possibility to pitch the idea for your concept. I did this representing the team I was in, existing out of multiple students of my study. Luckily, our concept was chosen as a concept that would be worked on during the weekend, and it was time to network and invite or meet new potential teammates for our project. Within one weekend we had to create a business plan, concept, brand and simplified said everything from A-Z ready to be implemented! We did this successfully using each others qualities and delivered a great final concept: Fresh.r, a smoke-detecting portable device for rental- and lease cars. This to track and check the particles of cigarette smoke to check and register any smokers in the cars, focusing on the sustainability of cars by making use of the internet of things and big data.
