Created by the House of Bombay and event company The Robin Collective, the six-city tour took place place from October to December 2016 and aimed to “re-invent and challenge conventions of taste”.
The Grand Journey was is inspired by the 10 “botanical locations” used to create Bombay Sapphire including Antwerp, London, Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin and Amsterdam.
The one-hour experience included short theatrical performances and was hosted by a train guard who explored each botanical location revealing a different flavour, telling a new story.
On board the train, an array of serves created by The Robin Collective included orris root mist and colour-changing palate cleansers.
The serves and taster dishes were presented in a multi-sensory manner, with moving images projected onto the surrounding walls and music, fragrance and lighting to match the individual offerings.
