I was lucky enough to be Editor-in-Chief of The ISIS magazine last year, the UK's oldest independent student magazine. From the offset, myself and my co-Editor decided that we wanted to respond to new ways of reading and accessing content, structuring our magazine in three 'episodes': Blue, Red and Yellow. We were aware that the majority of our busy audience didn't read our magazine cover to cover, so we created a magazine that the reader could dip into and put down. The magazine featured a 500 word competition, where writers were tasked with responding to Falstaff's quote "Lord! How this world is given to lying", judged by Anis Mogjani, Michael Billington, Anthony Anaxagorou, Phoebe Arnold, David Lister and Imogen Stubbs. Our ISIS was both bold and unassuming, serious and silly, colourful and grey.
