'The Lounge' by AFRICA BY DESIGN | Intra African Trade Fair, Cairo Egypt | December 2018

In partnership with Afreximbank, Africa By Design (ABD) was delighted to curate the visitors' lounge at this year's inaugural 'Intra Africa Trade Fair', Cairo, Egypt. Pieces selected were showcased at the event and then later, the bank’s headquarters, for guests and employees to use and enjoy. Proudly on display were the works of: @amwa_designs, Ghana Inoussa Dao, Burkina Faso @jeanservaissomiandesigner, Cote d'Ivoire @nmbello1, Nigeria @Nulangee, Senegal @studiolani, Nigeria @tekura_designs, Ghana The designers collectively share overlaps of cultural themes and narratives, but they each demonstrate their unique voice. Their works in many instances challenge assumptions of African design and may be of surprise for their modernity. @africabydesign believes design is a vehicle for social development, mobilisation and business. With such talents at the forefront, design has the power to create a thriving and sustainable industry.
