The Morgue

  • Riccardo Carrara
Andres Serrano (born August 15, 1950) is an American photographer and artist who has become famous through his photos of corpses and his use of feces and bodily fluids in his work. One of his works is called "The Morgue". Here the artist takes pictures of corpses wrapped in coloured clothes, playing with lights and shadows, telling to the public just the cause of dead. Many are the similarities with the paintings of Caravaggio.
In this booklet there is a short biography of the artist, the analysis of the work "The Morgue" and the analogies with Caravaggio.
