The Nerd Necklace

  • Tina Mooney
In 2014 I started learning how to embroider and make jewellery. I posted pictures online of the embroidered pieces I made, which is how my client found me and hired me to embroider her a necklace.
I started by asking my client if she had any specific ideas of what she wanted me to embroider on the necklace for her. My client then began telling me about her nickname, ''Kid Nerd'', and how she got it and that she would like the necklace based on that. She also said she wanted something simple, hipster like and geeky.
From then, I drew out ideas of what I thought would suit my client and then chose a suitable background fabric to work on.
