The Perks of Being a Psychopath

  • Nikki Ritmeijer
My final year dissertation dealt with the topic of psychopaths. In it I tackle the complex question: how ‘human’ are psychopaths, are they really so fundamentally different from us and how do we relate to them as ‘normal humans’?

The cover design of my dissertation reflects the psychopath’s ‘two-faced’-ness; a polished exterior passing for normal, but underneath that is a mysterious void.

The inside pages include heavily dithered images of ‘psychopaths’, real or fake, as we know them from popular culture, news and media. Often these are representations of our limited view of what a psychopath is, based on an idea of a condition that is in reality much more complex.
