The Precautionary Principle - Visual Essay Animation by Mair Perkins
An animation I made for Dr Rupert Read at the University of East Anglia about his theory the "Precautionary Principle". It argues that we should act against climate change because even if you're a skeptic the risk of it being real is too great to ignore.
It's heavy stuff but the animation includes giant mutant space hamsters! The brief and script requested a humorous, conversational approach to encourage sharing of the video and conversation.
I sketched the storyboard in Adobe Draw on an iPad Pro then used Boords to arrange the storyboard panels and share them with the client so they could comment on them.
After the storyboard artwork was signed off, I drew the animation assets in Adobe Illustrator.
