The Regal Cinema, Uxbridge was a Grade II listed auditorium built in the Art Deco style in 1931. With it having such a rich history in my local town, I dedicated a week project to reviving the Grade II listed cinema brand, almost 40 years since closure.
The rebrand concept draws inspiration from the geometric nature of the 1931 original Regal signage and celebrates a customised version of Josef Albers' 1926 Universal Typeface. The logotype adds reference to a modern cinema seating plan and is stylised to create a geometric lock-up with subtle streamline serifs.
A self-initiated project to celebrate The Regal Cinema, Uxbridge 1931–1977.
