The Stapler Re-Imagined

  • Molly Hayne

Brief: to demonstrate manual design skills whilst re-designing an everyday object.

An oberservation sketch of an existing stapler and two possible options for the mechanism. They involve using a downwards force to push the staple through the pages, allowing for a varying number of pages to be stapled at one time.
The final solution consists of a base and a top. The base and top are connected by magnets so any area of the page can be reached. There is also a clear panel on the side so the user can see how many staples remain.
