'The Study of Blue'

  • Joshua Scott

An investigation into how architectural archetypical forms, can have an impact on the 'interplay between light and shadow' that is exhibit by colour. Using ceramic slip cast objects, finished with initial results from blue glaze research, to explore how colour and glaze can respond to graphic styles and bold form. This project followed on from research about visual perception and the way in which perception of artwork can lead to a meaningful experience for a viewer. Using the colour blue to start to put forward ideas about the ambiguous nature of colour, in how it can be a totally unique experience to an individual, creating different perceptions of the way in which colour + light + shadow interact.
