Timeline

My final Academic Contexts Project for my Postgraduate Certificate Course at UAL London College of Communication. Timeline was produced in response to a brief titled 'Structure and the City', and visually considers the way in which the function of architecture shifts according to the demand of its surrounding public. I looked at Battersea Power Station as a case study, as the station's utility has transitioned drastically since its erection in 1929. The modern atmosphere currently found at the station starkly juxtaposes its history and the shapes, textures and stories behind its original structure. This functional and structural dichotomy is a key characteristic of the space, and guided the project both in subject and design.
