Do you remember the west coast ?
In October when the songs of birds are still heard
And those furious growling waves
That we used to watch, together.
You are the kind of girl we name hurricanes after
A natural disaster
Uncompromisingly swift and beautiful
Deadly, triumphant
An exception of nature
You are a rising king
A troubling, playful man both looked up to and feared
A child’s soul in a somber suit
Firmly rooted at the feet
Eyes wandering in endless skies.
If you stay, then I won’t go
But if you go I’ll always be there
Restlessly praying
Until the day shows light again
But honey can’t you see ?
You’re my beginning and my end
And our love is but a realm
Which flags we hold proudly
Floating, just as we are, in endless winds.
We are shooting stars, just out of line
Doomed from the start, but how we glow
Our love is universal, and rightful
And so justice is what we seek
The tremors hold a bit of our poetry
As we persevere through the void…
We are what to hope for that’s out of reach
An insolvable equation
A mistake on account of chance
We are absolute and a reason to believe
All that’s humanly perceivable would have us think we don’t matter
But we perceive humanly, no more.
Today I swear to god
We’ll overcome illness, maybe death
We’ll overcome weakness, and the lies
I’ll heal the wounds inside your eyes
Bury your foes in shallow graves
We’ll find our answers in the waves
For all these times we faced loss and pain
For all these times our tears ran like rain
My love is deep beneath my skin
Time escapes us
I can hear them coming.
