Too Much Source

An exhibition celebrating creatives within the Black British Community.

Olga and I met with KISS FM DJ/Host Swarzy in early 2018, when she interviewed us for Eric Festival at Somerset House, and since then we stayed in contact as we all got along so well. Little did we know that, it would lead to us working together on a very exciting project later that year.
From 24th–28th October 2018, Swarzy took over We Built This City on Carnaby Street, to host a free exhibition that was dedicated to celebrating creatives within the Black British community.
Olga and I worked on all the design material for the event, from creating social media assets, poster designs, to photography and video content.
The event was a beautiful one which gave the public the opportunity to listen to inspiring stories, share experiences, attend an open-mic night, and even bring their own photographs which allowed them to tell their story, relating to Black British History.
"There is power behind photos and storytelling. Photos are honest snapshots of history and it’s these stories that are the source behind Black Britain today.” - Swarzy Macaly
The event received a lot of positive feedback and it allowed Olga, Swarzy and myself to share with the public more, by speaking on BBC Radio London, as well as speaking live on BEN Television.
We had support from Dice, Melvin Odoom (KISS FM), Angie Greaves (Magic FM), Michael Depaah (Comedian), Ibrahim Kamara (Guap), Go Think Big (o2) and Sevian Witter (Nike) - Thank you!
We're looking to make this very special event an annual one, so we'll be back in October 2019...Watch this space!
