Requirement: A mobile app that showcases 28 motorcycle routes compiled by a team of passionate cartographers. The app should be able to offer everything a tourist needs, from points of interest to housing. Besides all the usefull info there should be an offline navigation tool incorporated in the app.
Information Architecture
As it can be seen on the wireframes, I sliced the app architecture in three main categories. Route List Layer, Route Details Layer and finally the Navigation Layer.
Design philosophy
The very first idea of the app was a single screen map of Romania with 28 tracks drawn directly on the map. Although, I managed to convince the client that it would be much easier for the user to interact with the 28 tracks, if they were presented as a list of ‘tangible’ cards. The cards also gave us the posibility to show off not just the title, but a represantative image as well. This way the app suddenly became colourful and enjoyable.
