Traces

  • Roshan Whittaker

This editorial investigates the traces and fragments left behind of sex, bodies and lust. Through the forensic lens of contemporary digital photographic practice, the series utilises classical motifs of still life, landscape and documentary to reveal the rawness of sex acts. Opposing the growth of digital culture and online access, which gives isolated, distorted viewpoints of sex and unrealistic expectations, this series magnifies and illuminates stereotypical locations of sex and sexual activity. The series captures the intimate, real and the temporary. Shot by me
