Typographic Music

  • Steven Scott
Music is the typographic form that sound creates. It is the composition and spacing between the musical notes that create vivid and emotional responses. The volume and intonation of the note can also have a strong effect on what the audience feels. Whether it is loud and bold or quietly timid, the same expressions can be said about the typographic elements in graphic design.

It is the weaving in between the words and letterforms that can show the tone of the piece as much as the sentences that follow. This book is a journey through the various physical forms which music takes on from what was originally an auditory sensation.
