Understanding Humans is a film that hopes to help our understanding of our fellow human beings, and in doing so create a more understanding and peaceful world. It was important in this film that we felt a true closeness with the subject, Nicole Latchana. As such, I felt it was important that it didn't feel like an interview - so I only used her voice as a voiceover, so that it might feel as if we are in her head and hearing her thoughts. In this way we can feel like we more intimately understand her as a human being, and we are all the richer for it.
