University of Westminster Open Day Posters

The brief for this project asked to create a poster for the Open Day at Westminster University. In my work I focused on the balance between positive and negative space, while being mindful of the use of colour and the combination of sans-serif typography with geometric, overlapping shapes. The focal point of each poster is the colourful and bright pattern created by making use of the moiré effect, which is an optical interaction between overlapping layers with periodically modulated transmittance and close geometrical characteristics. Through this project I wanted to play and experiment with colour in order to demonstrate that, although I usually tend to favour the use of black and white, I am also confident in the use of colour.
