Untold Story. My grandfather and Auschwitz.

  • Paul Jacobs

This 30 minute documentary tells the story of my grandfather, a Holocaust survivor, who never wanted to talk about his experience of WW2. Through retracing last threads of existing historical documents, conversations with Auschwitz researchers, family members and friends I try to preserve the legacy of my late grandfather, and tell a story of a man who didn't want to be defined through his horrific growing up. The film has won a Royal Television Society's student award for "Best Undergraduate Factual" in Glasgow in 2014 and has been exhibited in a number of art galleries as part of group shows, including at Stills Gallery, Edinburgh, Royal Society of Art (RSA:NC) Edinburgh and the Fleming Gallery (London).
