Utopia

Compare the Eastern fantasy about the Western cultural colonization and the impacts from diverse western and worldwide cultures, so as to further understand how the contemporary Chinese deal with an environment with “global outlook” and “humanites” formulated within the Western institutional framework.

Eastern Buddhism holds the belief that if a dying person's body is cold, and his/her vertex is hot, he will enter the place where Saints live. This means that he has access to the Western Paradise Holy Land whose location, according to the Eastern Buddhism refers not to a point in the west geologically. It doesn't
mean specifically a physical place in Buddhism. Although in reality, Buddhism books mentioned that Buddha said "There is a world called Paradise (Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss)where you can find after you have passed through 10 trillion of Buddha Lands from the west. The Buddha named Amita is right in that Paradise.”

“The west” here suggests a place that transcends the present mentality and environment but not “the west” on this earth.Viewing the Chinese in the Eastern contemporary, the Eastern empire has been culturally colonized by the West since the World War II. Up to date, the East has been engulfed by the Western popular culture, fastfood and consumer culture and western democratic thinking, revealing the fact that the East still has a fantasy western outlook for the world. For the East, contemporary West is like a romantic idealization of "Utopian Empire" , "Garden of Eden" and the "Peach Blossom Land" described by ancient
Chinese literatus Mr. Tao Yuanming who longed for a paradise and an evasion from reality. Using the Buddhist slogan--Western Paradise (Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss), I study the fantasy of Western Paradise in the West that has derived from the voluntary colonization of the Western culture on the East.

By referring to the oriental and western mythologies in disintegrating the subtle influence of the Western pop culture on the Eastern world, I try to grasp the essence of the impact of western fast food-style consumer culture on the East, disintegrate the fantasy of western "Paradise".

I compare the differences between the Eastern and western mythologies in applying the concept of eastern and western mythologies (understanding the social status or belief through the Eastern and western mythologies), then disintegrate and reintegrate their relationship, so as to understand the essence of eastern imagination under western cultural colonization.
