We are the result of a dream,
Shaped by the drop of tears,
Snatched from darkness, with sweat and blood.
We inherited Europe,
This land that has seen Kings reign,
A nation of pioneers, artists and scientists
We are carrying the hope of the fallen ones.
For freedom and justice,
For progress, and fraternity.
We are the fleeting memory of an ever-changing history.
Threatened by fear, amalgams and doubts
Threatened by those trying to divide us.
Today, we Europeans must rise
And claim that the truth is not an opinion,
That we believe in facts and collective action,
That antagonisms were never relevant as banners of culture
And that our differences have a much weaker value than what unites us.
When looms on us a murky dawn,
We are what is for certain.
As long as our voices are heard…
We will go forward as one
Europe will be gorgeous, proud, and glorious.
To stand up to those that preceded us
We will serve greatness, love, and peace
It’s ironic
The extent to which, together, we are strong
For honor, conviction, for passion.
For her.
