Wabi sabi expresses beauty found in forms of transience, imperfection and natural decay.

To communicate these abstract characteristics I chose to concentrate on light as a medium for its ability to evoke an emotional response on a subconscious level and subtly influence our perception. This evolved into a body of work focussing on the aesthetic qualities inherent in both manmade material and the natural element of water. Subsequently, two visually contrasting alphabet series developed using video and print which were later collated into a three part process journal.
