I decided to throw my first ever Birthday party this year and being a massive Bowie fan the theme was a given. This actually turned out to be a full production that took months to organise, arrange and create, and flexed every single creative muscle I had.
Firstly a photoshoot was arranged with www.joeandcharlotte.co.uk to create the invites and flyers. The party was named 'We can be Bowie (just for one day) ... see what i did there. It was fancy dress, come as Bowie or come as a Bowie fan. Either way, Bowie needed to be the main theme for any outfit on the night.
My outfit was a hand made replica of one of my favourite Ziggy Stardust outfits with a glittery twist. My cake was made by my Mum and myself and all the interior design was created by me. I had my sister create hand written signs of my favourite lyrics and quotes. My boyfriend helped me created giant free standing light up Bowie letters.
With the scene set all it took was a room full of Bowies (and a Freddie Mercury) a great band, lots of wine and it was a huge success.
This was a full blown Bowie Fest that Bowie would have been proud of.
