WeWork Creator Awards 2017, London

On September 14, creators in the UK won more than $1 million in funding to take their big ideas and innovative projects to the next level.

Watch the recap:

The excitement in the air was palpable as we kicked off the London Creator Awards at Battersea Evolution, a dynamic venue just south of the River Thames. Attendees from near and far shopped from local vendors at the Creator Market, while forward-thinking companies networked with professionals at the job fair. As day turned to dusk, guests geared up for the awards ceremony in true British fashion—over mini meat pies and pints.
Before the big event, industry leaders Grace Dent, Simon Hulstone, Estelle, Dave Burt, and Dumi Oburota hosted master classes to discuss mentorship and creativity. Next up, WeWork founder Adam Neumann kicked off the official ceremony with a keynote address before handing it over to hosts Reggie Yates and Carly Wilford to announce the winners. By the end of the ceremony—which included live pitches and awards presentations across three categories—UK creators walked away with more than $1 million in awards. The evening came to a close with a dance party for the books spun by DJ Annie Mac—a proper celebration, indeed!

From a clean technology startup recycling coffee grounds into reusable products to a company creating high-tech orthotic devices for children, UK creators are working on projects that are truly changing the world. Here’s our full list of winners by category.
