YCN - Bear brief
As part of the Bear snacks brief for the YCN awards 2017 I was required to design a set of three interactive cards to go inside the packets for Bear yoyo snacks.
As Bear is a healthy snack targeted at children, aged 3-8 years, the cards needed to be fun, colourful, engaging and educational. For the theme of the cards I chose to explore Greek Mythology. After some initial research I discovered that this is taught in many school curriculums for under 8s. Therefore I deemed this an appropriate theme to explore tying together both education and the fun of these interesting and sometimes outrageous Greek myths.
Each card contains an acetate circle in the top right hand corner containing only part of an image. The idea is that as the children collect these cards they will start to be able to piece together the images by stacking the cards on top of each other. Once the image is complete a mythological creature will be revealed.
The back of the cards contain fun facts about that specific Greek God/Goddess and displays a top trumps-like game where the Gods are rated on their characteristics and traits.
Colour was carefully selected during the making of these cards, so that each colour was relevant to that specific God. While the colours and images vary between cards, the Greek patterned background and 'Bear's Mythology Mystery' logo remain consistent throughout, allowing the cards to be coherent
